From the founder
Hi, I'm Scott.
I build software around operational problems. My work covers IT, ecommerce operations, automation, cloud infrastructure, and integrations, and most of it is hands-on: hosting providers, APIs, and the systems a business actually runs on.
Broke Hold is how I do that for other companies. I work as the fractional CTO for Shopify brands, where I own the store's technology and web. I also build and run our own products, from server backups to packing slip automation to AI agents, so I deal with production problems the same way our clients do.
My approach is simple. Build the smallest useful version first. Automate the work people keep repeating. And fix the problems that show up after the demo works: the slow API, the missing field, the extra click nobody planned for.
I served in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an Aviation Machinist's Mate, and the values I work by come from there: honor, courage, and commitment. In practice that means telling you plainly what I find, including when the answer is a $20 app instead of a project, and doing what I said I would do.
